What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
In the process of making our 2 minute film opening i realised the importance of a high quality camera to film our opening sequence. As we were filming in the dark the camera did not look as well 'polished' as the other students films as they were filmed in the daytime.
I have also learned how to to use Sony Vegas pro 9.0 as Liam had this editing software on his laptop, this meant that we could edit whenever we wanted without problems with who is on the computer. Liam also taught me how to use software like adobe Photoshop and after affects to create the titles and our opening credits.
Things i have learnt in constructing this product:
How to create a blog and keep it well presented,
Built on past camera work,
How to maintain a steady camera tracking with tripod
Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in progression from it to the full product?
There was a big transition from creating the preliminary task and the full product as we had to plan every single shot for the full product to ensure it ran smooth as in the preliminary we went and improvised these shots. However, we did learn how and when to use different kind of camera shot in a situation to create more tension or less. The main task has taught me the importance of continuity within the film itself as if the final product is not the same all the way through it can make the finished product look tacky.Even though our main task took longer than we anticipated to plan and prepare it came out a a reasonably high quality with only minor errors. This highlights the importance of storyboarding as we knew what we were doing when we came to filming so we only needed a few hours to film.
